I'm A Landlord in the United Kingdom, leasing properties to tenants whilst trying to create a Modern side to Rental
So far in my life I have not yet lived in a property that either myself or my family owned. Through this up-bringing I realised that no-one who rents a house should have to decide between a place they want to call home and someone elses unfair decision.
During Covid a close family member passed away and I inherited that house. Within a year of this happening I had a nasty accident which stopped my initial career path. Between this and the horror stories of Landlords I grew up with I sought out a way to try and make a change, no matter how small.
At this point in time I have 2 Properties, both in places where rental housing is being changed into HMO’s or redeveloped to flates etc. This is appaling in my eyes, how are families supposed to live when they can not even rent a standard 2 up and 2 down anymore? The old council estate houses that we rented from the private market were a staple of the community for me growing up. Now I look around at what’s happening and all of those houses I would have grown up in are HMOs or knocked down to make way for flats.
So this is me, Chipmunk Property. Someone trying to make homes for families that are built up on trust, good standing and old fashioned community standards.
Almost sounds like a fairytale.
